Cong. Wilbert “Manoy” T. Lee is pushing for 24/7 government services to address the growing backlog of rice shipments at ports, which has caused rice prices to spike. Lee’s House Bill No. 10426 aims to streamline government services and reduce delays that contribute to higher costs for Filipino consumers.
“We need all hands on deck,” Lee emphasized, calling for round-the-clock operations at the country’s ports to lower rice prices and improve food security.
Lee also warned that the benefits of Executive Order No. 62, which reduced rice tariffs, would be wasted unless port congestion is addressed.
