In a landmark step forward for Philippine healthcare, Cong. Manoy Wilbert “Wise” Lee’s efforts have secured a suite of expanded health benefits under PhilHealth, set to begin rolling out by the last quarter of 2024. Lee’s constant push for accessible healthcare has led to new commitments for free diagnostic services, expanded cancer and heart disease treatment, and prescription glasses for both adults and children. The enhancements are part of a broader vision Lee has championed, aiming to bring healthcare directly to the Filipino people.
Among these secured benefits are free Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scans, Computed Tomography (CT) scans, and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans as part of PhilHealth’s outpatient services. Cancer treatments like chemotherapy, as well as procedures for heart disease, will soon have up to 80% coverage. Starting this November, Filipinos can also expect an across-the-board 50% increase in PhilHealth benefits, alongside free prescription glasses.
Lee’s previous efforts led to a 30% increase in PhilHealth benefits in February, boosting support for hemodialysis and breast cancer treatments. His dedication reflects a lifelong commitment to helping Filipinos access affordable health services, with this latest batch of reforms promising to ease the financial strain on countless families. He firmly believes that healthcare should not be a burden, but a right that every citizen can rely on.
Lee passionately declared, “Ang gobyerno, hindi dapat pabigat sa taumbayan. Tungkulin nitong pagaanin ang pasanin ng ating mga kababayan.” As he continues advocating for free healthcare through his “Gamot Mo, Sagot Ko” campaign, Lee remains focused on his mission to ensure government funds are directed toward life-saving services that bring relief and security to the public.
